Parry Sound is a beautiful place to live! We are on Georgian Bay in the middle of cottage country.  Real estate, whether a home or a cottage is quite different from winter to summer.  The most obvious difference is that most cottages are not reasonably accessible in the winter months.  Many cottages are on season roads or water access only.  Aside from snowshoeing in to a cottage or snowmobiling, the majority of the cottage market lays dormant, like many people! However, on March 10, 2015 something happened!  I got up in the morning and took my dog out as I do each morning, but on this morning things were different! Actully a few things....I heard a dripping sound.....snow was melting and dripping off our roof!  I heard birds chirping for the first time in a long time!  The sun was out and it almost felt....warm?  March 10 was the first day that it finally seemed like winter may be on its way out.  Granted that the Parry Sound area is a great place for winter activities as well with endless snowmobile trails and great ice fishing, but I personally prefer the summer. It will still take quite a while for all the snow to be gone, but it is melting more everyday...
